Hansel Invest

As an early crypto enthusiast, many people reached out to me in 2017 to ask “What is Bitcoin?” and “How do I invest in crypto?”. A friend and I came up with the idea to build a micro-investment app that bought cryptocurrencies after rounding up your spare change from purchases. I kicked off the project by creating an app map to show the full functionality of the app, and later helped code part of the website, including some react components. I also took the lead in user testing when our alpha launched in 2018, and guided the team’s decisions around features for a beta release.

I created an app map to outline the entire app. This helped the team visualize the functionality that we wanted to build.

I designed and helped code the Hansel website, which was launched as a fully responsive web app.

I ran a card sorting exercise with some potential Hansel users. This research method helped us realize what people were expecting to see on the Home screen, and we re-designed the layout according to what we learned.

Since the Home screen serves as the main navigation for the app, I included a list of all functionality for this screen specifically.

I worked extensively on the carousel design, including some copywriting.
